To become a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN/LPN) in Ontario and British Columbia, you must successfully complete the Regulatory Exam known as the REx PN exam. This regulatory examination assesses whether the candidate has the knowledge, skills and judgment essential for an entry-level nurse to safely meet client needs within the first year of practice. All other provinces continue to use CPNRE.
